Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 oz Roth French Onion Havarti Cheese, sliced
- Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish
Method
- In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions, sugar, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 12 equal squares. Place the puff pastry squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spoon a small amount of caramelized onions onto the center of each puff pastry square. Top each with a slice of Roth French Onion Havarti cheese.
