Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices Roth Gouda cheese
  • 4 onion rings (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • Lettuce (optional)
  • Sliced tomato (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties, season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the burgers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of Gouda on each burger to melt.
  5. Toast the buns if desired.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, adding lettuce and tomato (if using), placing the Gouda-topped patty on top, followed by a slice of bacon and an onion ring.
  7. Top with the remaining bun and serve hot.
